Sarah Cohen

Sarah Cohen passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on March 25^th, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Sarah was a Holocaust survivor and was predeceased by her beloved husband, Avraham Cohen. She was an incredible mother to Ora (Victor) and Hanna (Tony), a devoted grandmother to Michelle (Ron), Debbie, Alexandra (Sam), Danielle (George) and Jonathan, and adored by her great-grandchildren Avery, Riley, Aaron, Julian, Jayden and Lucas. Caring sister to Dora Garman and Esther Mucher and the late Sam Tivoli and Mordechai Tivoli. She has left an incredible legacy and will be in our hearts forever. Dear family Heartbreaking. Sarah took a mother role, when mine is so far away. The chance encounter between the two women, Sarah and my mother Yvonne, after so many years was a found treasure for me, as I got to know your amazing mother and grandmother. Always caring, always giving, including me in family celebrations and holidays, checking up on me often and ....the star of my recipe book....so many desserts that have SARAH in their title; Sarah's Pesach Sesame squares....Sarah's Napoleon....Sarah's Gurabieh. Please accept my sincere condolences.....Sarah was a wonderful person. Her cooking, baking and knitting was know by everyone. I once asked her for a recipe and she just read it out to me by heart. It took up 3 pages of my daily planner book. When her grandchildren and great grandchildren stood up there at Steeles Memorial and each one read about how special their Safta was to them, it brought tears to my eyes. I am privileged to have know her and she will never be forgotten.
