Saul Zwerling – A gentle, good, and decent man. Born in Halifax, NS, December 18, 1930. Died in Toronto, September 4, 2015. Survived by his sister Pearl David of Halifax and by nephews, nieces, step-son, step-daughter, extended family, friends, and two generations of all their children. Preceded in death by his parents Isaac and Clara (Zion) Zwerling; by his sisters Ruth Borts (and Arnold); Doris Yates; Mary Velensky (and Sonny); and Florence; by his brother Edward; and by his brother-in-law Sollie David. He long spoke of first wife Rae as the love of his life. After her death, he found enduring companionship with Bettie. Saul is remembered for his gentle nature, stoicism, droll wit, generous heart, and devotion to family. Dapper, well-read, and caring, he will be lovingly remembered.
