We are devastated and heartbroken to announce the passing of Sharon Starkman, at home, surrounded by her family on December 8, 2024.
Beloved wife of Murray (Moishe), together just a few weeks shy of 63 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Alexandra & Barry, JJ & Tracy, and the late Craig z”l. Adored Bubbi of Rebecca, Josh, Sam, and Harrison. Devoted daughter of the late Hyman and Lily Mills, and sister of the late Leon Mills. Heartfelt thanks to Niloo and Carol, Jennifer, Jessa, Grace, Jo-an, Jocelyn, Sarah, Kate, and Allen, for their incredible love and devotion. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Tam and his palliative care team for keeping Sharon comfortable during her final days.
Being Jewish and having a Jewish identity was extremely important to her. Mummy was selfless, devoting her life to helping others, qualities that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her extended family, friends, and all who knew her.
Memorial donations may be made to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (https://www.sinaihealth.ca/foundation – please specify “Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care” under gift designation), to Yachad (https://upreaching.com/yachad/yachad-toronto/team-devorah-marmer), or to a Jewish charity of your choice.
Please strongly consider wearing a mask at the funeral and Shiva house given Moishe’s age and health. Thank you.
