Loving brother and brother-in-law of Leonard and Arlene Krochmalnek. Cherished grandfather of Charlotte. Fondly remembered by Barbra Fischer. Dear uncle of Melanie, and Neil. Funeral services will be held at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave West on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Interment: Community Section of Pardes Chaim Cemetery. Shiva: 7 Cherry Hills Rd, Concord. Shiva visits Friday following the interment and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Evening service Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation to be used in support of the Heart Failure Program at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre 416-603-6278 or to the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Foundation for the purpose of supporting the Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation Program at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute’s Rumsey Centre 416-597-3422.

I, as well as my siblings, Allan, Dena, Mark and David, have very fond memories of our younger days with Sheldon. As a family, we were very close to our Auntie Annie, often spending daytime and overnights at her home. Sheldon was always very welcoming to us and I, in particular, shared a love of the Herb Alpert band with Sheldon. When Herb Alpert came to Montreal, despite being Sheldon's "kid cousin", he generously took me to see the show. He was a really gentle, generous guy and I had the opportunity to connect with him just a couple of years back when I was working on a family scrapbook. He sent me wonderful photographs of his mother as well as his own family. He is fondly remembered by our family.
