I was fortunate to have met her, your late father Gerry and other members of your family several times in Toronto and she joined us here in Edmonton one year to celebrate a family Barmitzvah. Dear Ilan, Ronny and Danny, Your mother was a most beautiful, kindhearted delightful person; never a frown on her face nor a kink in her spirit. We met the first day our family moved in to our home next door to hers in Toronto and from that day forward we each had an open-door policy for borrowing almost anything. It was a rich friendship for about 30 years. We shared our swimming pool with her (and all the neighbours) which she delighted in swimming almost everyday in the summers. Shimona shared her knowledge of gardening, baking, dinners, Jewish Israeli traditions, forced forsythias for Pesach, talk of tennis, taking me to the live-screening of the MET Opera at our local theatres on a regular basis and we had hours over the years of wonderful intelligent conversations on so many topics such as theatre, history, music, “life”, artistic pursuits to mention a few, with both Shimona and Gerry. Gerry shared his personal stories of his life in Germany and experiences in Canadian interment camp and you could see his determination to live life on his-terms. Together they were an intelligent dynamic-duo and each survived the tyranny of WWII to build active and successful lives in Israel and Canada….an amazing couple that we miss. We couldn’t have asked for better neighbours and I do miss them both. May your memories help you through your time of grief and also give you joy in happier times. Fondly, Beverly, Ed and family.

I remember Shimona as a unique person while I met her last time in Israel during the 80s she was sister to my grandmother Batya it's seems she had great life surrounded by her lovely family I am sending you my condolences
