Peacefully, on February 2nd, 2026, at the age of 94, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Simon Weithorn.

 

Cherished father to Marilyn (Lorne) and Henry Mark (z”l, 1990), beloved Zaida to Adam (Gabriella) and Rebecca (Rie), and proud great-Zaida to Madelyn. Dear brother to Regina, Morris (z”l, 2025), and Lucy (z”l, 2023).

 

Simon was truly a light in the lives of all who knew him. He was filled with positivity and always greeted everyone with a warm smile. Intelligent, affectionate, and gentle in spirit, he had a way of making those around him feel valued and uplifted. His presence brought comfort, joy, and love, and he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

 

Very special thanks to his caregiver Rosie Mapa, whom Simon lovingly called his “angel from above,” and to all the staff at Valleyview for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.
