Greenberg, Sonia (nee Shkarofsky). Passed away peacefully on December 11th, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Greenberg. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Charna and Marvin Cweibel, Diane and Stephen Cooper, and Judy and Clint Clarke. Cherished grandmother of Elana (Mike), Jeremy (Debbie), Emerson (Freya), Daniel, Aiden (Douglas), Josh and Sara. Proud great-grandmother of Whitney, Wesley, Julia and Hailey. Funeral service and interment will be held on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. graveside at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 986 Wilson Ave., North York, ON, new Beth Sholom section.

Dear Cousins and Extended Family: I was saddened to learn of Sonny's p'tirah (passing) yesterday and I grieve for my cousin and for your loss of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I am in Florida now, on a short visit with my daughter and her family, but my sister, Helen, informed me as soon as she was contacted by Dianne. Sonny was a great lady and we go back a long way to our days in Montreal. Dear Greenberg Family. You should bear no more pain or sorrow in the future and only know of Simchas and Happy times, to come to pass. When I think of Sonia (Sony), I think of Sonia and Bernard's huge welcoming smiles upon their faces when entering their Decarie store. And a vivid memory of Bernard's saying (engraved in my mind), "I'm a part time brain surgeon but I have no patients ".
