LUPKA, Stanley – On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Sunnybrook Hospital. Stanley Lupka, dear brother and brother-in-law of Freda and Arie Hochman, Loving uncle of Gav and Rachel Givon, and great uncle of Josh, and Jessica. Memorial Service Location: Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave W, Thornhill, Chapel service.

Burial Service Location: Pardes Shalom Cemetery, 10953 Dufferin St., Zaglembier Society section.

Shiva Details: 14 Alameda Circle, Thornhill. Visits from 11am starting on Sunday, November 30th. Concludes Thursday morning December 5th.

This morning I was told that Stanley, someone I shared some time, though not a lot, and even grief with, had passed. As I took my place at the morning minyan bima to lead the first portion of the service, a flood of memories rushed in, as if a door had been opened. So overwhelmed and surprised at the impact was I, that I had to take a seat and defer to another "friend of Stan" to carry on. In deed, many a time, did I open the Pride shul door for Stan, who greeted me with a cheery smile and a quip. I suppose I opened that door this morning. For those family and friends, close to Stan, who remain here, while he "travels" to his next destination, know that he made an impression, evoked a tear for what has been diminished in our world and prompted a smile for what has remained and will remain, sometimes at the edge of memory and sometimes its centerpiece. It's an old adage perhaps too often repeated but "Thanks, Stan, for the memories"

We are so sorry to hear about your loss, stanley was a great person. We both know him through the Zaglembier Society and I know he ran a travel business yrs ago. I saw him alot in the Promenade Mall. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.

I have known stanley since 1997 through the business networking group we were members of.; BNI for 2 years and later Le Tip. He worked as a travel agent who loved his work and his clients. He later served as regional director for Le Tip Ontario where he started about 12 local chapters. He loved his job and worked at it diligently until health issues compelled him to retire. All Le Tip members were fond of him. He was fair, friendly, encouraging and an all around mensch. He was a very caring and devoted son to his mom and understandably was very sad and depressed when she passed away about 10 years ago. He spent the last few years attending shul and meeting up with close friends at the Promenade Mall food court where I sat down with him on many Sundays. I will miss his sense of humour, candidness, and his views about politics, sports, our business networking group and other issues. I extent my condolences to his sister and her family.

Dear Family and Friends of Stan: Georgi and I have only known Stan for a very short time, about 2 1/2 years but what a great impression and wonderful memories he left us with. Stan was loyal, appreciative, always upscale, and would do anything for you within his realm of possibility that he possessed. Boy, do we wish we could have him for a much longer time. We will miss Stanley at our Passover table - we have had the pleasure of Stanley's company and stories for the past 5 years. Stanley welcomed me at the morning minyan services at the Pride, for the year I said kaddish for my father, almost 6 years ago. We became morning minyan buddies and shared prayer, life, stories and healing together. Stanley's kindness and camaraderie will be missed and our memories of Stanley fondly cherished.

I just heard about Stanley's passing today from a friend. My deepest condolences to his sister and her family. I met Stanley through a cousin years ago , but he quickly became my friend and my travel agent for many years. He had great stories and was always friendly and happy to see us. He will be missed by those of us who knew him

Dear close friends and family of Stanley I was quite saddened to read about Stanley’s passing in the paper today. Although I wasn’t a close friend of his, I’d known Stanley for a long time, from when my mother was associated with him and Peter at Manor Travel. Whenever I wanted to make travel arrangements or just needed a little advice about it, even if I wasn’t booking threw Manor, Stanley was always there to help. He would ask me about my health, and always found the time to kibbitz with me for a few minutes, during his workday. I have to say, that Stanley has to be, one of the nicest, most kind person I have ever met. I am going to miss bumping into him as i did occasionally at the Promenade Mall, and gabbing with this special guy with the nicest disposition. please accept my most sincere condolences, and I hope God grants you comfort and strength during this difficult time.

So very sorry to hear of Stan's passing. When I first began attending Pride to say kaddish 6 1/2 years ago, Stanley would walk up to me, always with a welcoming smile, extend his hand in greeting, and quietly tell me what page we were on. Always a gentleman. Will be missed.

Dear Freda I am so sorry about the loss of your brother Stanley , he was such a mensch and gave me my first job at PF Travel in 1985 when i had just arrived in Canada and I always appreciated his encouragement to go to York U and get my BA he allowed me to work around my university schedule and I am so sorry for your family's loss
