Susan Karpati passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario, on July 29, 2025.

She was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1930, Though her early life was marked by unimaginable hardship during the Holocaust, Susan remained a bright light, inspiring those around her with her humor, compassion, and fierce dedication to family.

Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband, George. She was a loving, devoted mother to daughter, Eva, and son-in-law, Richard, and dear sister to Vera. She was a cherished grandmother to Jason and Gillian (Darryl). Her joy multiplied with her great-grandchildren, Shae and Koah, whom she adored deeply.

She was a trailblazer in her field of medical photography at Branson Hospital being the first woman in the profession. Later in life she became one of the original members of the Toronto Jewish Quilting Project, volunteering every week for 20 years bringing comfort to those touched by cancer. For the last four years Susan was a valued resident of Sunrise Retirement Home, where she was loved by all. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched residents and staff alike, making her a beloved part of the community.

She will be remembered with love, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
