To Howard and the Yellin family: my deepest condolences on the loss of Susan, who loved you all so fiercely. I am reeling with shock and grief at the sudden passing of my dear, sweet friend of more than 30 years. Susan was truly one of a kind - generous and loyal, with a razor-sharp wit, a keen intelligence and a determined zest for life and life’s experiences. I will miss her laughter most of all. Our families’ friendship goes back to when our mothers, Helen and Adeline were children; they were even just down the hall from each other at Shalom Village. My heart goes out to her husband, brothers Mendy and Joel, sister in law Michelle and their families. Gone too soon. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.

I am so saddened on this day. Susan and I met through a women’s networking group and we became fast friends. An incredibly talented writer devoted wife, she was always proud to show me photos of her grand baby. Susan I will miss you more than you know. We were just planning a lunch date last week. How short this life is.

We are so saddened to hear of Susan’s sudden passing. Thinking of all her family and friends and hope their good memories help to get them through this difficult time. She is fondly remembered from our time together at the Lodzer-she always sat at shul in the same spot and she was always happy to see us and would genuinely ask how we were and how our kids were doing -she really cared. She was a huge participant at Lodzer and I believe she had her Bat Mitzvah there in the last 10 years when we were lucky enough to be there one Shabbat morning to experience that heartfelt and emotional event. I recall fondly officiating at Susan and Howard’s wedding in 2012. Susan possessed a love for Jewish learning. To that extent I helped her prepare the chanting of a Haftarah as she celebrated becoming ‘Bat Mitzvah.’ She had such a deep connection to her Jewish identity. Dear Family & Friends: The eulogies at the graveside summed up the Susan I knew throughout the years I was lucky enough to have known her. I will hold her memory dear to me.

So very shocked and sorry to hear about the sudden loss of Susan. I met and knew her through networking. I remember her as deeply committed to whatever she did, witty, smart, mischievous and caring. My thoughts go out to her family and community - to all those who knew and will miss her deeply.

Was so sad to learn this weekend of the sudden passing of Susan Yellin z'l I just saw Susan at the Canada Sales Congress so was even more surprised to hear the news. Our industry lost a wonderful spokesperson and communications professional. Susan was a business reporter turned public relations professional with an in-depth background of the investment management and insurance industries and their issues. Her stories appeared for years in Insurance Journal, Investment Executive, Forum Magazine and countless others. I had the pleasure to work with Sue for many of my 31 years of professional practice. She was an important part of my business growth, having interviewed me many times over the years, and then she became our corporate writer back in 2011. She was such a pleasure to work with - she had an incredible sense of humour coupled with so much grace. We kibbitzed, talked politics, discussed our Jewish upbringing and holidays, our families and Israel and talked about her one day helping me to write “my book”. I am sad to learn of Susan’s much too soon passing. My fond memories of Susan date back to the late ‘70s when she was a feisty, hard-working radio news reporter in Regina and I was reporting for the Leader-Post.
