GOLD, Sylvia (née Marigold)

On Saturday, May 1, 2021. Sylvia Gold, devoted wife of the late Harold (Hushy) Gold, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Toronto. Loving mother of David (Elayne) and Brian (Esther). Devoted grandmother of Lezley, Rachelle, and Faye. Dear sister of the late Teddy, Mildred, and Doris. Sylvia was a great friend to many, as well as a great cook, avid reader, and lover of classic movies. Sylvia will be remembered by her family and friends for her larger than life personality and great sense of humour.

In lieu of shiva gifts, please make donations to The Baycrest Apotex Centre Jewish Home for the Aged 416-785-2875.

Dear Gold Family, so sorry to hear that Sylvia passed away, I used to work with her at Kutner Kramer a long time ago, and over the years lost touch with her although did see her at the cottage in Belle Ewart a few years back, She was a wonderful and happy person, always with a smile. Dear David and Brian; I remember you both as small boys way back in 1959. My first husband and I had just moved into the basement apartment on Overbrooke as newly weds. We were painfully young and inexperienced in the ways of the world but your mother took me under her wing with humour and compassion, and made that first year bearable. I've thought of her so often with gratitude over the years but somehow never got around to getting in touch. I regret that now. She was a dynamite lady - I still remember her wonderful laugh and kindness to a naive and frightened 18-year-old. May she rest in peace. Linda Morganstein Fen
