I used to work out with Sylvia back in the 80's at the old Y. She was a fair bit older than I but she had a young spirit and we enjoyed each others' company tremendously. She was very committed to fitness and was in great shape. I remember her sharing a recipe with me for these very healthy muffins using dried fruit. They were delicious. I wish I had that recipe. Rest in peace sweet Sylvia.

Dear Family of Sylvia, I also knew Sylvia from the JCC. She was inspirational. She totally changed her lifestyle to be more fit and the JCC was her second home. She made up her mind that she was going to run a marathon when she first started to have a healthy lifestyle. And she did run marathons! She was also very kind and friendly. A real mensch and a fine example to all who knew her!

My condolences to the extended family on the passing of Sylvia. Sylvia moved into Forestview a few days after I began a short term residency. During those weeks we spent most mealtimes at the same table, where her favourite meal choice was the salmon. She frequently mentioned that she had been a marathoner and I’m sorry that I didn’t know her at that stage of her life. Sylvia was very quiet and gentle and I hope that the past few years were easy for her. May good memories comfort you at this sad time and I wish you all a Long Life.
