Vera Fischer Kagan passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Rudabánya, Hungary on March 17, 1948, to Mishka z’l and Klara z”l.

She was a gifted artist with a wonderful sense of humour, a strong disposition, and a genuine interest in everyone she met.

Beloved mother of Mordecai and Rachel; sister to Eva; aunt to Leah, Miriam, and Michael; and lifelong friend to Malka and Judy.

A strong person to the very end, she was filled will love and humour.

Thank you to her care team: Dr. Marnie Howe and Arash with the Temmy Latner Palliative team; Dr. Kim Miller and Dr. Eitan Amir from Princess Margaret; and her wonderful caregivers Julia, Maribeth, Irene, Bell, and Khatera.

There will never be another Vera. May her memory be a blessing for all who knew and loved her.
