Shiva Details: Family and friends are invited back to the residence following the burial until 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shiva visits will resume on Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The remainder of the Shiva will be observed privately.

Many years ago in a board meeting at B’nai Brith I rose to confront someone who was being outrageous. I felt a tug on my sleeve as Billy was pulling me down. He said to me, “remember the source.” That has stayed with me all of life. Anne and family, he was an intellectual and guided our group for some years in Jewish studies. I know that the last years were not kind to him but I am sure that his legacy will live on as he gave so many of us his wisdom.

Dearest Anne, Mark and Brian; Billy came into our lives 62 years ago. My mother always called him Billy. To us he will always be Billy. There were a lot of heated arguments but always with respect. May his memory be a blessing.

Sheila and Steve Gerlock and family

Anne, Brian&Shalen, Mark, and entire Gleberzon family, Billy will be remembered by us as a very warm and kind, funny, and knowledgeable man. I have many memories of him, one in particular in the early 80s, of him visiting Brian and friends at U of T Scarborough campus and taking Brian and us to the staff lounge just because he could! Steve remembers him fondly as well. We were sorry to hear he had many difficult and challenging years which were hard on all of you. He’s at peace now. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Mel and Linda Kochberg

Dear Ann and family As fellow pledges of PAL and then as members of Canyon lodge, our relationship with Billy covers almost 7 fleeting decades. To know Billy was not only to like him for his honesty and humility, but to respect him for his intellect. Linda typed Billy's PhD. thesis so many years ago. We remember with fondness the visit by you and your sons while we lived in Vancouver. Such a keen mind dulled. May his memory be for a blessing. Mel and Linda.

Our paths came together again where our friendship solidified through the time at Canyon Lodge, B'nai Brith, and our walks up & down Yonge Street for many, many years! He will be sincerely missed.
