Billy, You were a fixture at the BJCC and always had a smile and a kind word for me. You will be missed for sure at the BJCC. Your best friend and advocate Avishay will miss you as well.

Billy and I knew each other for over 60 years when we both belonged to the same wrestling team, although we never saw one another often ,whenever we did at the Y he would come over and give me a big hug and a hefty smile. I will truly miss him.

Billy was an example of a mensch. He was popular with so many people who met him and an inspiration to many aspiring athletes. He always had a sense of humour and it was always a pleasure to see him. It is sad to see him gone.

I will remember Uncle Velvle as a good Uncle when I was young. I lost touch with him when I moved out west. I renewed our relationship by email and hoped to see h on my next visit to Toronto. I am saddened by his sudden loss.

I knew Bill 40 years ago when I was 10 years old and he was dating my mother. He would take me to the JCC sometimes and he lifted weights and used me as a weight sometimes, I would sit on his knees and he would go up and down on the bars. He was a big guy, I thought he would never die, its very painful to learn of his death, He was so strong,
