My condolences to the family of Yehonatan Berick. Although I may have never studied with him (I play brass), I had the privilege to talk with him often at school since I worked for the department as a student employee. I will never forget the warm positive energy he radiated and his fierce love for music and his students. I also had the chance to spend time with him when we ran the auditions. During these times I got to know who he was outside of music and in particular how much he loved his family. He spoke fondly of his kids and was super proud of them. He will always be remembered and loved by the School of Music community.

Such loss, to the music, to the students, their parents, future generations of musicians. Such void he leaves on his departure, but always in our hearts and souls, filled with his larger than life persona, charisma and music, yet again. Sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the family. Dear Berick Family, I am saddened to read of the death of Yehonatan. "Yonni" was the one who gave my son his first musical instrument and is now a professional musician with the TSO. He was always kind, patient and willing to help in honing his skills. I am sure that here are others who feel the same way. I see that you're burying him in Israel but I would like to pass by the Shiva house to pay my final respects. Please let me know when is convenient for you. Sincerely, Frances.
