Edith Drew (née Ambrose), affectionately known to all as Bubby, passed away peacefully at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of boundless love, warmth, and laughter. Born on April 1, 1936, to her devoted parents Zalman and Toba Ambrose, Edith brought a lifetime of bright light and joy into the world from the very beginning.
For 73 remarkable years, Edith was married to her devoted and loving husband, Arnold Drew. Their enduring union was a beautiful testament to partnership, deep affection, and mutual devotion—a true love story that anchored their ever-growing family.
Edith had a vibrant soul who lit up every room she entered. She had a wonderful sense of humour, a quick wit, and a beautiful laugh that was completely infectious to everyone around her. Her warm spirit, easy smile, and natural gift for connection meant her home was always filled with laughter, friends, and open arms.
Above all else, Edith adored her family. She was the proud, loving mother of four children: David (Helen), Laurie (Lino), Brian (Sue), and Toby (Barry). Her legacy of love multiplied through her role as a doting grandmother to Shawn, Allicia, Bailee, Sarah, Aaron, Drew, and Joshua, and as a treasured great-grandmother to Rachel, Leah, Ava, and Rylie. Each generation felt the immense weight of her pride and unconditional affection.  Distance never deterred her need to always be in contact with the people she loved.
Bubby’s memory will live on eternally in the stories shared, the family traditions kept, and the love she so generously wove into the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
