Frances (Lewkowicz) Kummer

March 23, 1955 – May 22, 2026

Buried in Israel at 11:30 p.m. on May 23rd, 2026 

Our ayshet chayil, Frimet Ita bat Feige Perl z’l, died on Friday evening, the 7th of Sivan, at her home in Jerusalem after her fight with glioblastoma.

Surrounded by countless daveners and friends, Fran was devotedly loved.

Fran leaves behind her husband Neil, her daughter Chani, her son Gilad, and her stepdaughter Tal.

Fran’s parents Morris and Fay Lewkowicz were Holocaust survivors.

Fran made lifelong friends from her childhood and adolescent years and remained in touch with many.

She had a brilliant wit matched by few, and a quality that instantly drew people around her.

Fran will be greatly missed by her extended family (including her Koplowitz cousins), her many friends, and all who had the pleasure of meeting her both in Toronto and in Israel.

May her memory be for a blessing.
