We've had the priviledge to meet Larry 17 years ago in Baycrest, where he volunteered by visiting. Larry's energy was contagious, his kindness genuine and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He shared his kindness, unique sense of humour, brilliant mind, creativity and generosity with people in paliative care and the doctors, nurses and staff. My brother Yuri listened to the best jazz, operas and virtuosos thanks to weekly, often daily visits, when Larry shared his collections with us. Larry was a real Mensh, he cherished his family, Andrea was the love of his life.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Larry Koven’s passing. While he made have been my dentist for many years, that relationship grew well beyond that. What began as professional care evolved into a genuine friendship that I valued greatly. His skill and dedication to his patients were evident in every interaction, but it was his character that left the lasting impression. He had a steady presence and a warmth that made people feel at ease. Even after his retirement, we stayed in touch, and I was grateful for those continued conversations and the opportunity to know him simply as a friend.
