Leanne Styles

I just saw this sad news. My condolences to the Koven family. I grew up in the Kingsway, and when I was six years old (in 1963) and still believed in the Tooth Fairy, my Mom, Margaret, was looking for a Dentist for my brother Neal and me. Luckily, Dr. Larry Koven, newly settled into his Practice on Bloor St. W. was the best choice ever!! Dr. Koven was so kind, warm, and gentle, that as I grew to adulthood I could never understand why people in general cringed at the idea of going to the Dentist. Not my Dentist! Dr. Koven made sure that our trips to see him remained pain-free. He was so proud of his kids, Sherri and David, and family photos always adorned his wait and dental rooms. I heard that David carried on the family tradition in Dentistry. He had a great role model in his Dad. Peace to you all. Treasure the memories. Leanne Styles

We've had the priviledge to meet Larry 17 years ago in Baycrest, where he volunteered by visiting. Larry's energy was contagious, his kindness genuine and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He shared his kindness, unique sense of humour, brilliant mind, creativity and generosity with people in paliative care and the doctors, nurses and staff. My brother Yuri listened to the best jazz, operas and virtuosos thanks to weekly, often daily visits, when Larry shared his collections with us. Larry was a real Mensh, he cherished his family, Andrea was the love of his life.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Larry Koven’s passing. While he made have been my dentist for many years, that relationship grew well beyond that. What began as professional care evolved into a genuine friendship that I valued greatly. His skill and dedication to his patients were evident in every interaction, but it was his character that left the lasting impression. He had a steady presence and a warmth that made people feel at ease. Even after his retirement, we stayed in touch, and I was grateful for those continued conversations and the opportunity to know him simply as a friend. He made a meaningful difference in our lives, and I know I am only one of many who can say the same. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Andrea and Koven Family, There was no one that had a bigger smile than my cousin Larry. . Even though I was 25 years his junior, when we would meet you knew he was honestly happy to see you and always took an interest in what was happening in your life. He was a very special man. My life was enriched knowing him and loving him.

Koven Family, We are all deeply saddened by the news of Larry's passing. We have very fond memories of the kindness and gentle manner in which Larry conducted himself with his family and close friends. For our father (father in law), David Miller, Larry was a ife-long friend. As couples, Larry and Andrea would spend countless joyful hours with Dave and Diane. May you get comfort from how great a human being he was and may his memory be a blessing to you all.

Andrea, Sherri, David & Family. Wow! I have no words. Larry was a wonderful man. I have known you guys since I was 11 & you quickly became family to myself & my own family. We had just freshly arrived from Wales & had nobody here. We shared all the holidays together with you & your parents/grandparents and spent many ski and boat vacations with you. I have so many amazing memories of Larry. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. I wish you comfort in the memories you shared and my heart and thoughts are with you at this horrible time. Ruth Mendell.
