Canadian author, humorist, and attorney Morley Lorne Torgov, passed
away at the age of 98 this past Sunday. Born in Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario, on December 3, 1927, Morley was the only child of Allen and
Sarah Jane Torgov. He graduated Osgoode Hall Law School, embarking on
a 70-year legal career in real estate and corporate law as senior
partner at Olch Torgov and Cohen.

Concurrently, Morley forged a literary legacy, authoring a body of
novels and winning two prestigious Stephen Leacock Medal awards for
Humor for A Good Place To Come From, and The Outside Chance of
Maximillian Glick. In 2015, he was awarded The Order of Canada.

Morley was predeceased by his son, Alexander Torgov. He is survived by
his wife of 74 years, Anna Pearl; his daughter, Sarah Jane Torgov, his
son-in-law, Douglas Steinberg; his daughter-in-law, Carrie Schipper
Torgov; his sister-in-law Shirley Kline, and his four grandchildren,
Benjamin, Sydney, Rebecca, and Marshall. He will truly be missed.
