It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Nightingale peacefully on May 2, 2026 in his 102nd year surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 3, 1924. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Frances (May 1, 1999) and his 6 siblings. He is survived by his two children Rochelle (Irwin), Howard (Charna), five grandchildren:  Jennifer (Zohar), Gillian, Joshua (Barbara), Ira (Samara), Noah (Sarit), and five great-grandchildren:  Ella, Justin, Gwyneth, Morgan and Eden. Although he was a Holocaust survivor and lived through five slave labour camps in Germany during WWII, he always had a very optimistic and positive outlook and always wore a smile. His passion for exercising and dancing was second to none. He was affectionately nicknamed “happy feet”. He has now rejoined his beloved wife Frances on a dance floor. They won many dance contests during their happy years. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews in Israel. He enjoyed living, exercising and dancing at Viva Thornhill Woods Retirement Community for the last 5 years and will be missed by many there.
