Sandor Deutsch

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Sandor Deutsch, beloved

husband of the late Magda Deutsch, father of Jim Deutsch, Ida Berger and George Deutsch;

grandfather of Michael, David, Jake, Arielle and Keren; great-grandfather of Sydney, Reva,

Gavriella, Merav and Ethan, and cherished by Betty.

Sandor was born on October 23rd 1923 in Iszkaz, Hungary, and passed away on October 3rd,

2023, nearing his 100th birthday, in Toronto.

Sandor was the patriarch of his family, and his presence commanded reverence and respect.

He hailed from a farming background and his stories from the farm were not just tales of toil

and hard work, but also lessons in resilience and the beauty of life. He was passionate about

the Toronto Maple Leafs and could always be counted on for a spirited discussion about

their performance.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, friend and

neighbour. His love for his family knew no bounds. He took immense pride in the

accomplishments of his family and friends, no matter how small, and could often be heard

raving about their most recent successes and adventures.

He will be remembered for his strength and conviction, and his love and wisdom will forever

guide us.
