Samuel Brill

Samuel Brill passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024. Born in Romania on September 25, 1946, he grew up with 4 step brothers who graciously welcomed him into the family. He emigrated to Israel at the age of 14. He faithfully served in the Israeli Defense Forces during the Six Day War and Yom Kippur War, rising to the rank of captain. After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering from The Technion, he moved to Canada in 1975. While working for Marconi, he helped design the control system for the Canada France Hawaii Telescope, a significant engineering accomplishment the family was quite proud of.  He was a man who loved life so much, he survived a terrible injury 30 years ago. He will always be remembered as someone who had a joke for every occasion. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 54 years, Faiga (nee Bigler), his son Yoav, daughter in law Meredith (nee Gonsko), grandchildren Camryn, Emerson and Reese, son Herbert, daughter in law Susan (nee Telner), grandchildren Morrison, Gabriel, Lexi, and Jaclyn.
