Melvin Bornstein

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mel, devoted husband of
Joyce, loving father of Launa and Jerome, Jenny and Yoni, cherished Zadie of Zach, Sierra, Dahra and
Eilan, dear brother of Sheldon, Joyce and Glenna.  Mel leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and
selflessness that will forever remain in our hearts.
Mel’s life was a testament to the power of generosity and compassion. He had an unparalleled ability to
put others before himself, always willing to lend a helping hand. His heart overflowed with love for those
fortunate enough to know him. Mel’s positive spirit was contagious, and his unwavering optimism brought
joy to every room he entered.
As a husband, Mel was a pillar of strength and unwavering support. His love for his family knew no
bounds, and his devotion was a guiding light for all who had the privilege of being a part of his life. He
leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to nurture and inspire his family for generations to come.
As a father, Mel was a role model of kindness and integrity. He instilled in his children the values of
compassion and empathy, teaching them to always treat others with respect and kindness. His wisdom
and guidance will be cherished forever.
Mel was also known as “Zadie” to his adoring grandchildren, a title he wore with immense pride and joy.
To his siblings and extended family, Mel was a source of unwavering support and camaraderie.
Mel’s friendship was a gift to all who knew him. He had a unique ability to make friends easily and
maintain lifelong connections. His kindness and positivity were a beacon of light for his friends, and his
memory will continue to warm their hearts.
May Mel rest in eternal peace, his legacy of love and kindness forever guiding our lives. Family kindly
requests that donations be made to Biet Halochem or Chabad Lubavitch of Markham, organizations that
were dear to Mel’s heart.
Shiva will not be held due to Chag Sukkot. The family welcomes everyone to join them on Monday
October 2, Tuesday October 3, and Wednesday October 4 from 2-7pm to honour Mel’s memory. You can
join them at 34 Prince Edward Blvd., Thornhill.
