We are beyond sad to have to announce the passing of our beloved Tillie Margolis on Wednesday, June 3, 2021 due to a devastating fall in her 97th year. She leaves behind a best friend in her daughter Judy Margolis, her son Paul of Edmonton, Alberta, and brother William Stein of Cornwall, Ontario. Tillie was predeceased by her husband Herbert (Hy) Margolis (2002), father Joseph Stein and mother Minnie (nee Fagenbaum).
A dedicated and tireless member of Na’amat Canada Toronto for more than 75 years, she served as a three-time Masada Club president, Toronto Council president, plus a three-year term as national president of the organization. In her former volunteer role as the Ontario region president of the Canadian Zionist Federation, she produced the popular, family-friendly Israel Day Festival in Mel Lastman Square every June for well over 10 years before securing it’s future with Na’amat Canada Toronto. Before her professional retirement at age 65, she worked as a corporate and government fundraiser with the Canadian Cancer Society.
