Robert Zeidman

August 13, 1936-June 22,2025

Beloved husband, father, cousin, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, neighbor, community member, Robert Zeidman, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Robert was born to Yanush and Regina Berger. A survivor in the truest sense of, nine-year-old Robert narrowly escaped certain death during the Holocaust, finding refuge in one of Raoul Wallenberg’s safe houses. Drawing on his inner strength and resourcefulness, he later fled to safety with an aunt, hiding in a potato cellar for the duration of the war -an act of courage that would define his resilience throughout life. He was lovingly adopted and raised in Winnipeg by David and Clara Zeidman, embraced by a warm, energetic, and talented extended family. Robert went on to build a successful career as a mechanical engineer in Toronto, where he settled and flourished. Together with his beloved late wife Faye (a”h), Robert lovingly raised their three daughters: Reena, Goldene, and Felicia. He was a devoted and involved grandfather to Sabina, Elisheva, Penina, Shmuel, Mitchell, Adam, Simon, Sadie, Yoni, and Eliora, and was blessed to meet his great- granddaughter Leora. Robert was a cherished brother-in-law to Bronia and Sophie, and a true friend to many. His kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him.

May his memory be a blessing.
