Ruth Adler

Ruth (Elias) Adler passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Ruth, or Ma, as she was affectionately known by her family, was born in Hamburg, Germany to Elisabeth and Berthold Elias. At a young age, she was sent to Sweden by her parents, with her younger brother to avoid the war. She was raised in Stockholm by her foster family who became her chosen family for life. After the war, she met and married her husband Amek (Amie), and had her son, Barry, all before moving to Canada, where she had her daughter Rose. Ruth was a loving, caring, devoted daughter, sister, wife, mom and aunt. Her family meant everything to her. Ruth’s children, Rose, Barry, Jeff, and Melissa z”l, grandchildren Evan, Staci, Nick, Jonathan, Megan, Jordan z”l, and Nick, great-grandchildren Sam and Ellie, and favourite dogs Paz, Stella and Leila will miss her greatly. For those who had the immense pleasure of getting to know Ruth, she was meticulous, determined, and elegant, with the most incredible laugh. Over her 95 years, she greatly impacted so many people and all will miss her.
