Chaie Shaine Katzenstein
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Chaie Shain Katzenstein who passed
away peacefully at the age of 89, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in South Africa, Shain later made Canada her home, where she built a beautiful
life rooted in warmth , generosity and strength. She will be remembered for her boundless love,
her wisdom, and her unwavering devotion to her family.
She was the cherished mother of Joanne, Anthony and Mitchell and the proud grandmother of
Carly, Zach, Ben, Jonathan, Monique, Zoe and Noah , and great grandmother of Jordan and
Sloan- each of whom brought her immense joy. Shain was also a beloved aunt to Dalya Malkow
and Judy Teperson who adored her deeply .
Her legacy of kindness, laughter and love will continue to live on through all who were fortunate
enough to know her
