1949 – 2023

Passed peacefully on March 4, 2023 at the age of 74 surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born in Toronto, Ontario, on February 5, 1949 to Ruth and Chuck. He is survived by his wife, Dinah Kutner who was the love of his life. He looked forward to spending their retirement years together. He was also survived by his children Michael (Diana) and Joelle (Charles) and was the beloved Saba to his grandchildren Charlotte, Dylan and Lazare. Howard will be profoundly missed by his siblings, Brian and KarenAnn, Gail and Shelly, Lorn and Karen, and many nieces and nephews.

An Osgoode Hall alumni, Howard was a successful and trusted lawyer to his many clients. His son joined him in his practice at Kutner Law LLP in 2014 and they continued with their practice together until his death. He liked to joke with Michael that he was not only his son but also his “son in law”. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends and professional colleagues.

Howard loved to travel with his wife Dinah. They especially enjoyed spending time in Los Angeles with Joelle and going on adventures together around the world. Most notably their trips to Israel and Florida.

As a gifted athlete, Howard enjoyed his golf games with his friends/family and skiing with his grandchildren. His best memories are those of skiing in Europe with his children.

His family is devastated over his loss. He was loved and will continue to be loved forever.
