DR. LADISLAV HORAK passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Marika. Devoted son of Anna and Oscar Erdelyi and stepson of Dezider Horak. Loving father and father-in-law of Kathy & Jeffrey Alpert and Norrie & Ivo Horak. Cherished grandfather of Adam , Caroline, Eliana and Oren. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.

Dr. Horak had an amazing life. He was a Holocaust survivor, he escaped from Communism in Czecholovakia, and he and Marika came to Canada with their two young children in 1968 to start a new life for their family. He was a skilled family physician and a specialist in pain management, who was loved and respected by all of his patients, fellow doctors and nurses.

Donations in memory of Dr. Horak may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada at kidney.ca or to the charity of your choice.

The family will be sitting Shiva at 104 Garnier Court, North York with outdoor services for family and all friends in the backyard on Thursday, June 17 at 7:30 PM (ending at 9:30 PM) and Sunday, June 20 at 7:30 PM (ending at 9:30 PM). Please e-mail the family ahead of time at kjalpert@rogers.com to confirm your attendance at Shiva, so that we can monitor numbers.
