Helen Binns

Helen Binns, a beloved mother, Bubbie and sister, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 in her 93rd year. Helen was a woman of many talents and passions.
She was a wonderful opera singer, great artist and craftswoman, using her creativity to bring joy to many.
She touched the lives of those around her and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of experiencing her talents. Many of her family and friends are lucky enough to have one of her homemade scarves, bobble hats, crochet blankets and pom-pom booties.
Helen was a strong supporter of Habonim and the creation of the Jewish state of Israel. She was a member of B’nai B’rith Women; Aquarius chapter for many years, where she found a sense of belonging and camaraderie with like-minded women.
She made a difference to so many lives with her charitable work over the years. Her dedication to these causes was a reflection of her deep commitment to her faith and her unwavering support for the Jewish community.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother and Bubbie. She is survived by her son Lawrence, her daughter Jo-Ann, her beloved grandchildren Alexander and Victoria, her sister Laura and her brother Murray, and pre-deceased by her loving husband Norman.
Her family was the centre of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them, leaving behind a legacy of love and ever lasting memories.
The funeral service to honour Helen’s life will take place on Sunday, November 10th, at Pardes Chaim at 2pm; graveside service. Following the service, the Shiva will be held at 80 Cheryl Shepway from Sunday, November 10th to Thursday, November 14th from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and on Friday November 15th from 12 pm to 5 pm.
This will be a time for family and friends to come together to mourn, remember, and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many.
Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, sense of humour and life long friendships with those who were fortunate enough to have known her, will be cherished forever.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
