Eileen Lillian LeVine

Eileen passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024 at North York General Hospital, at the age of 96. Loving wife of the late Arthur LeVine z’l. Devoted mother of Joanne Abeles (Martin), Judy Froehlich (Peter), and Susan Silverman (Mark). Cherished grandmother of David Abeles and his wife Tova Leah, Heather Froehlich and partner Kathryn Yahner, and Greg Silverman. Predeceased by her parents Jack z’l and Evelyn z’l Riven, and her siblings Jeanette Cayne z’l, Sylvia Segalowitz z’l, and Irwin Riven z’l.

Eileen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a charming, independent, kind and gracious lady who grew up in Montreal. spent her married life in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then moved to Toronto after her husband’s  death, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She had an impact on the lives of many people and will be fondly remembered by those who knew her well. Her daughters enjoyed growing up in a warm, fun loving home and recall how she was, above all, a supportive mother who put her family first.

The family wishes to thank the caring, compassionate and devoted staff of Sunrise of Thornhill Retirement Home where she received excellent care during the last nine months as well as the staff at North York General Hospital during her short stay there.
