Dieter David Szames

In addition to the in-person service at the chapel, the funeral will also be live-streamed. To view the service virtually, please go to https://smclive.ca/ on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at 12:30 p.m.

Dieter David Szames, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on March 27, 2024, in Keswick, Ontario, Canada, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. Born on September 16, 1949, in Linz, Austria, Dieter’s life was a testament to the power of family, hard work, and the joy of living life to the fullest.

Dieter’s love story with his wife, Jacquie, was one for the ages. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love was a shining example for all who knew them. Together, they raised a beautiful family and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and endless love. Dieter’s sons, Corey and Terry, and his daughter, Tamara, were the light of his life.

Dieter was a loving father-in-law to Asha, Jen and Eric, and he cherished ever moment seeing his family grow. Dieter’s heart overflowed with pride and joy at the sight of his grandchildren. Kai, Elias, Aria, Ivy, Vaeda, and Kelce were the apples of his eye, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether it was tractor and boat rides at the cottage, watching a sports game, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Dieter’s love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.

In the wake of Dieter’s passing, his brother, Stephen, and his extended family and friends mourn the loss of a remarkable man whose impact will be felt for generations to come.

Dieter was a man of many talents. Known as the “Mr. Fix It” and “I Can Build It” man, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was the life of the party, and his zest for life was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Dieter David Szames will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched. His memory will be cherished, his laughter remembered, and his love celebrated for all time. Rest in peace, dear Dieter, knowing that you have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you.
