Lillian Betty Yasny
Prior to the service, friends and family are invited at 1:30 p.m. to share some stories of Lillian with the family in the reception hall at Bathurst Lawn Memorial Park, 6033 Bathurst St., North York.
Lillian Betty Yasny (nee Pallman), born May 16, 1933, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022.She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Joe Pallman (of Toronto), her loving husband Kenneth and her eldest daughter Fran.Lillian was a loving mother to Fran (Haim Yacoubov), Adele (Bill Wootton), Karen (Jim Crocker), Lisa (Dana Comeau) and a caring grandmother to; Yoni (Stacy), Jordie (Shir) and Jesse Yacoubov, Melody (Scott Perry), Kelsey (Josh Parker), Kevin Comeau (Kailan McGee), and a memorable GG to Lola and Summer Perry.Mom played mahjong masterfully for over seven decades. Mom instilled her love of reading in her children and grandchildren and she read voraciously for most of her life. Mom volunteered at a library in Florida for many joy-filled years, where she took real joy in recommending the most ideal books to everyone. Mom spent many an evening knitting well over 1,000 pairs of mittens for kids in need.Mom will be remembered for being the family matriarch and for hosting dinners for a crowd of over 20 family members. We have all enjoyed her quick humour, respected her committed work-ethic, loved her meatballs and cherished her unending support of her family.
