It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Yermus (July 28, 1929 – September 24, 2020), cherished and enduringly devoted husband of Helen.  Beloved father and father-in-law of Judy and the late Robert Greenwald, Esther Yermus and Stephen Farb, and Bob Yermus.  Adoring Zaidy to Daniel and Jessica, Andrew, David, Jesse, Sara, Rebecca, Nechama Shaindel, Shmuel Aryeh and Tal Ofra, and great-grandfather to Kaylee and Ella. Brother and brother-in-law to the late Nathan and the late Rose Yermus, Sam and Helen Yermus, and Leon and Freda Yermus.  With special gratitude to Lovelyn for her dedication, care, and love.

Aaron came to Canada with his brothers and parents after surviving the Holocaust. He was fiercely loyal to his adopted country of Canada, and was determined to make a new life here. He married Helen, whom he’d met in a Displaced Persons camp, and together they created a wonderful life. Aaron and his brothers launched a successful business, and were models for a tightly-knit family. That devotion to family was evident in everything Aaron and Helen did in raising their children, in their love for their nieces and nephews, and in their commitment to Jewish and other community causes.
