Jacob Rabinowitz

Jacob Rabinowitz, on September 13, 2019, passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital, peacefully, at age 84, with his loving wife by his side. Beloved husband of Greta for 64 years. Devoted and cherished father to Joyce, Michael and Rachelle, and grandfather to Graeme and Megan, and great grandfather to Lennon. Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and all who had the pleasure and honour to know him.

Jacob, a native of Edinburgh Scotland, immigrated to Toronto and secured a position with the City of Toronto in the audit department where he worked his way up to City Auditor/ Commissioner.

Jacob will be remembered for his integrity, devotion to family, strength of character, and the many organizations he was affiliated with and his colleagues at the City of Toronto.

The family is grateful for the kind care and support received from the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital and all who helped make him comfortable each and every day.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave. West, Thornhill. Interment to follow at Bathurst Lawn Cemetery, Toronto. Donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation at (416) 480-4483 in memory of Jacob Rabinowitz, or a charity of your choice.

We will miss him forever and he will always be in our hearts.
