Jerry Samuel Glower

Jerry Samuel Glower (Yosef Shmuel) was born on May 11, 1954, in Montreal, Quebec. He was a cherished son of Pauline z’l and David z’l Glower and revered brother of Harvey, and beloved brother-in-law/uncle to Deborah and Bree respectively.  He was also dearly loved by his aunt and uncle Anne z’l and Morty z’l Wise and their children Rhona, Heather, Sandy and Jerry, and their spouses and children.

Jerry’s life was a testament to love, kindness, integrity and unwavering strength. Jerry faced both triumphs and challenges with grace and resilience. His unwavering determination and courage inspired those who had the privilege of knowing him. His warm smile, spirit and wisdom were always a source of inspiration for his family and friends.

Jerry was a man of many talents and passions. He had a deep love for music, playing the piano and organ, singing in or leading synagogue choirs throughout Montreal and most notably, singing and performing opera, which he studied for many years.  Above all else, Jerry was an intellectual and  throughout his life he was an avid reader and student of Judaic texts, history, politics, economics and literature and always kept abreast of emerging technology.  He had a very successful career in rail transportation, most notably in crew management and labor relations.

On December 6, 2024, Jerry passed away suddenly in Richmond Hill, Ontario.  He leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit and legacy of love, resilience, kindness and compassion will continue to shine brightly through the memories and stories shared by those by those who were touched by his remarkable presence.

As we mourn the loss of Jerry, we take solace in the knowledge that he is reunited with his beloved parents, Pauline and David, in a place of eternal peace and serenity. May Jerry’s soul find eternal rest, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
