Dora Sigulim

Dora Sigulim, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 8th, 2025, in Toronto, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. She was born on June 26th, 1928, in the picturesque town of Siroke, Czechoslovakia, and her life was a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit. Dora was the daughter of Ephraim and Miriam Davidovic and she grew up the youngest of 8 siblings, 4 of whom, along with their parents, perished in the Holocaust. Her early years were marked by the simple joys of childhood, but the onset of World War II brought unimaginable hardship and tragedy.

After the war, still a teenager, and after a stay in Sweden through the Red Cross, the Jewish Congress found she had family in Israel and was sent to live with them there. She married and had her firstborn and beloved son there before moving to be with a surviving sister in Canada where she and her husband raised their family.

Dora was a testimony to resilience and determination and a survivor in every way. Her strength and courage were evident in every aspect of her life, from raising her children to embracing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with unwavering love and devotion.

Dora’s most important legacy is the love her son and daughter have for each other, their children, and her grandchildren and their offspring. She leaves behind a family that is a living testament to her enduring love and the values she instilled in them.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Dora’s spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and compassion.

Funeral services were held on November 10th, 2025, and the family, together and with love, has chosen to observe the rights of Shiva privately.

Rest in peace, dear Dora. You will be forever loved and deeply missed.
